From Abstraction to Realism

John Salminen is a signature member of eleven watercolor societies including The American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, The Watercolor USA Honor Soceity, The Transparent Watercolor Society of America and Watercolor West. Mr. Salminen has also been honored with ‘Master' status in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America and inclusion in the American Watercolor Society's Dolphin Fellowship.

While perhaps best known for his realistic urban landscapes, John has also gained recognition for his mexed medium abstract paintings, one of which won first place in The Artist's Magazine 2000 Art Competition in the experimental category judged by Edward Betts.

You can review Mr. Salminen's work in many national and international magazine publications, including American Artist's Watercolor Magazine, The Artist's Magazine, Watercolor Magic and International Artist.

It is an honor for the St. Louis Watercolor Society to host this workshop; and it is a great opportunity for the society's members and friends.

There is a $50 non-refundable deposit required for advance registration. Final payment is due May 10, 2008. If, after you have made your final payment, you find out you cannot attend, we will gladly refund your money, less the $50 deposit, as long as we can find a replacement. The workshop is 5 days. A workshop participant may not split class time with another student.
