This exhibition makes the statement that watercolor is alive and well in the St. Louis area. The award winners are consistent in the high quality of their paintings. These winning paintings are equal to any national competition in the United States.
For those not selected for awards, I also commend them for making themselves available to the judging process, and feel that there are many more distinguished paintings in the group than there were prizes to be given.
I am looking forward to the meeting in October where I will be available to critique paintings and answer questions about this exhibition and the state of watercolor today.
